Dear Cowgirls and Cowboys,
Every dream I've ever chased had a moment when it stopped being someday. It quit living on a Pinterest board and in the back of my mind, and all of a sudden it was right there in front of me, a whole lot bigger up close than it ever looked from a distance.
I've learned to recognize that moment. My heart pounds. My feet want to take a step back. And some stubborn part of me wants to lean in closer.
That feeling is the spirit behind Cowgirl Horizons, our new series, and you can see it all over this one. It's called Across the Fence Line.
She isn't in a hurry, and she isn't proving anything to anybody. She walked up to the fence, rested her arms on the top rail, and looked that longhorn square in the eye. Maybe a little intimidated. Mostly in awe. And not one bit interested in backing away.
Every dream worth having has a longhorn standing in it. The land you're not sure you can swing. The business you keep thinking about starting. The move nobody else understands. The fresh start people tell you it's too late for.
You don't have to climb over the fence today. But you can walk up to it. Look the big thing in the eye, and let yourself admire it, because the size of it is the whole point. A small dream would never make your heart pound like that.
Every piece in Cowgirl Horizons has a cowgirl at its heart and a horizon out ahead of her. If one of them looks familiar, she should. The cowgirl on the wall of that turquoise room back in August is part of it. She didn't have a name yet. Now she does. She's Chasing Daylight.
She's one of our New Arrivals, and she didn't come alone. Our Fall Collection is here too, a set of Gather signs made for the long table, the extra chairs pulled in from the porch, and the evenings when the house fills up and nobody's in a hurry to leave. There's a new Blessed series as well. The season of giving thanks is coming, and gratitude looks right at home on a Western wall.
And back in July, I asked whether you'd want the sunflower boots on canvas. We made them!
Fair warning: every time we design a pair like these, somebody writes in asking where to buy the real ones. We may need to get into the boot business. 😉 (Boot makers, consider that a formal request.)
